Disney’s exclusive private island is a highlight of every east-coast cruise. Because Castaway Cay is for Disney Cruise Line guests only, nearly everything is included once you disembark.
But be sure to bring your Key to the World card for souvenirs available only on Castaway Cay. You’ll also need it to leave and return to the ship.
The family beach is easily the most popular feature. White sand, blue water, beach chairs and umbrellas make this the perfect place for all ages. Nearby is Pelican Plunge, a water play area and platform. And don’t forget the sunscreen!
Spend a few hours snorkeling in the lagoon and discover plenty of buried treasure. Be sure to look for a “hidden Mickey” as well as a submarine from Walt Disney World’s old 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride. Reserve snorkel gear onboard the ship through Port Adventures or bring your own.
Kids will enjoy special programs at Scuttle’s Cove. It’s supervised by Disney counselors and there’s no additional charge.
Shots of check-in station for stingray adventure, snorkel equipment, bikes, etc.
Excursions are available for an additional fee. You can pet and feed gentle stingrays. Bike to the observation tower. Rent personal watercraft and much more.
While your kids are having fun, slip away to Serenity Beach, Castaway Cay’s adults-only resort area. Treat yourself to a massage in an open-air cabana adjacent to the beach.
No need to leave the island when lunchtime rolls around. Cookie’s Barbecue near the family beach features a large buffet, including fresh grilled burgers and chicken. There’s also a restaurant near the adult beach. You’ll find most of the same offerings, plus a few items not available at the family buffet.
Points to keep in mind:
• Character greetings are scheduled on the island.
• Gift shop purchases may be delivered to the ship.
• Private cabanas can be reserved for an additional fee.
• Minors may only leave and return to the ship with an adult.
• Shipboard dining services are limited while at Castaway Cay.
