Why use the Disney Dining Plan?

When you’re thinking about visiting a Disney destination you have to consider food. Depending on the location there could be more than a hundred different dining options to choose from. It’s easy to be overwhelmed with all the choices.

What’s the best way to maximize value and still enjoy a variety of Disney dishes?

Use the Disney Dining Plan! The Disney Dining Plan is an affordable and convenient way to enjoy meals while staying on property. There are different dining plans to choose based on your preferences.  And best of all it is possible to save up to 20 percent per person with a pre-purchased option.

The plan typically can include a combination of Quick-Service and Table-Service meals along with a snack.

Quick-Service meals & snacks are ideal choices when you want to fuel up and get back to the attractions.

Table-Service meals give you a chance to relax and enjoy a sit-down meal.

Options also include character dining experiences, dinner shows & even fine dining at some of Disney’s Signature restaurants.

Table-Service locations can be very popular. But when you purchase the Disney Dining Plan, you or your Disney Vacation Specialist can make reservations up to 180 days before your vacation starts.

To use the plan all you need to do is present your “Key to the World” card to the server or cashier when you order your meal. Specify the number of meals or snacks you wish to use. Your meals are then electronically recorded.

When your receipt is presented it will show the number of meals remaining on your plan. No cash or credit cards are needed. It’s that simple!

Points to keep in mind:

  • Each plan includes a refillable mug that can be used at your resort.
  • You can redeem your meals and snacks when you are ready. They do not expire until midnight on the day of check out.
  • Certain items, including alcoholic beverages, are not included.
  • Gratuities are not included at the time of purchase.

And be sure to check with your Disney Vacation Planner. Occasionally Disney offers the Dining Plan for FREE when you purchase certain room and ticket combinations.

You have to eat, so I would rather make my vacation “all inclusive” and just add it to my package. We love the dining plan, a must for my family!

We used the deluxe dining plan on Disney World trip in October. We feel we really got more than our moneys worth. We ate at several signature restaurants and our total restaurant receipts were more than double what we paid for the plan. Planning a trip for March and will definitely use dining plan.
