Tips for arriving at Port Canaveral

You’re in for a wonderful experience! Whether you’re a first-time Disney cruiser or not, we’ve got some great information to make your voyage a breeze. Some of these tips can even be applied before you leave home.

Once you have your passport – use Disney Cruise Line’s “My Online check-in system.” Disney provides a fast and efficient way to complete most of your travel documentation in advance & from your home. This will save time & speed up the boarding process. You may also be able to preselect your boarding time.

After you arrive at Disney’s Port Canaveral terminal – you’ll need to show a photo ID to enter. Guests will then be directed to a loading area where baggage handlers will gather your luggage for delivery to your stateroom.

The terminal has ample parking nearby. Guests pay for parking once you return from your cruise and drive out of the parking lot or garage.

After a short walk guests enter a security area similar to those in airports.

Once cleared by security you’ll enter the main terminal lobby. Disney has two areas designated for guest check-in. Don’t worry if you aren’t a member of the Castaway Club. You will be once your cruise is complete.

After check-in, you’ll receive your “Key to the World” card. You’ll need this card to board & it will serve as your stateroom key as well as the card you will use for any onboard purchases.

You may have a few minutes to wait until boarding. Be sure to check out the large-scale model of the Disney Magic in the terminal area. Characters often drop by for greetings and photos. And Disney movies are always playing on the TVs in the waiting area.

When your boarding number is announced, it’s time to climb aboard!

Points to keep in mind:

• Disney Cruise Line offers motor coach service for those flying into Orlando International Airport.
• Typically, all guests must be onboard by 4PM (NOTE: New time change! 3:45PM)
• Don’t forget to tip the porters!

Your Disney vacation doesn’t have to end once your cruise is over. Many guests choose to include a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, which is only 65 miles away. It’s a wonderful way to start or end your vacation experience. Check with your Disney vacation planner for more details.
