Why use Disney’s PhotoPass?

One of the most important things to do when you’re on vacation is document your experiences with photos. But what happens when the pictures don’t turn out?

The last thing you want on your Disney dream vacation is your own awkward family photo! So what can you do to get great images every time?

Use Disney’s PhotoPass! The Disney PhotoPass is a complimentary service for all park guests. Professional photographers will document your onsite magical moments no matter which park you visit. They know the best locations and times to shoot. And it doesn’t cost anything to have them take your picture.

All you have to do is approach a Disney PhotoPass Photographer. They’ll provide you with a PhotoPass Card that you can use for your entire vacation. As you go from one location to another, simply present your PhotoPass card to each photographer. All you have to do is smile!

When you return home you can view your pictures from Disney’s secure website.  For an additional charge you can order prints, photo books, calendars, mugs and other mementoes from your vacation.

One of the best values is a PhotoPass CD or PhotoPass Plus. With PhotoPass CD, all of your PhotoPass photographer pictures are included – no matter how any there are! PhotoPass Plus has even more, including shots taken while riding attractions like Disney’s Space Mountain. Also, all pictures taken at select dining locations are included. With both options, you get a CD of high-resolution images.  You’re free to make as many prints as you like with your own vendor.

Graphic/Points to keep in mind:

  • Pose for as many pictures as possible.  It doesn’t cost anything extra.
  • Take a photo of your PhotoPass card account number in case you might misplace it.
  • You may be able to save money by pre-purchasing PhotoPass CDs online in advance of your visit.
  • Check the website soon after your visit. PhotoPass images will remain available for only 30 days

And be sure to have the photographer provide a card for each member of your party.  Your photographer can link the cards to a single account. That way if your party splits up you can have all everyone’s pictures linked together. This is also convenient if you’re traveling with a large party or group.

    Thank you

Yes – it is a new service. Pricing starts at $149 when purchased in advance. Great value when you consider all that is included.

How do you purchase in advance (would like photopass plus) I come from the UK.
Also what are these new wrist bands I have heard about magicbands? When do these come into affect?

Great questions! There are a couple of ways to proceed on purchase.

          * All Disney guests can purchase in advance the PhotoPass+ online. (http://www.disneyphotopass.com/specialoffers/wdwppp.htm)
          * This can also be bundled as part of a vacation pack. You can contact your Disney Vacation Specialists. If you don’t have one in mind, please feel free to use our FREE no-obligation quote located at the top right corner of this page. Either I or someone from Magic of Mickey Travel will get back with you and provide some excellent options.

Regarding MagicBands – I believe Disney is still in the testing phase. No general release yet. Some Annual Passholders may have an option to test the new bands as part of the new Disney service MyMagic+. Here’s a link with additional details: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/my-disney-experience/passholder/

It’s a fantastic concept. I love how they photograph character meals. You can also have photos taken where they manipulate your photos with special effects – like having a digital tinkerbell in a photo with you.
